How do you like to keep active? What activities do you enjoy the most?
The activities I enjoy the most are running, cycling and walking.
Why do you feel it is important to lead a physically active lifestyle?
Leading a physically active lifestyle is important to me, for both my physical and mental health. I tend to do all my activities outside so it connects me to nature, the time of the year, the time of the day and what is going on around me. It also gives me time and space for other things, thinking and listening to music.
How does the Active Hub platform support your physical movement?
I love a challenge and I'm (a bit) competitive. Having a goal and someone to share in the goal helps motivate me. It encourages me to do some activity when sometimes not doing it might seem easier or better.
How has participating in Active Hub events helped increase your engagement with other colleagues?
I've joined Active Hub challenges with colleagues from work, some of them are people I work with, some are people in the same office that I did not previously know that well. Its broadened my friendship circle. We've had teams chats about our challenges, we've dropped each other an encouraging message, we've been a team.
Has having the Active Hub in place via your employer enabled you to lead a more active lifestyle?
Yes, its certainly been a factor. I was always active. Its encouraged me to get out at lunch time from the office to log a walk which I might not have previously done. More than being active, I think Active Hub has increased engagement in the office. Its given me a vehicle to encourage others in our team to join a team and get active.
